Smashbox primer vs Monistat

If there is one thing I love about make up...It's Primer! I have been researching online on drugstore primers and I came across on a non make up product called Monistat Chafing gel.

"The Monistat that people use as a make-up primer is called “Monistat Chafing Gel.”  This is NOT the same as the vaginal cream used to treat yeast infections.  The chafing gel is essentially a lotion, but with more silicone to create a barrier on top of the skin to reduce irritation if something rubs on it.
The SmashBox foundation primer or any other primers out there uses the same silicone ingredients (usually methicone or other names ending in -cone).
Silicon comes in many forms, but methicone is normally used in cosmetics, lotions, shampoos, etc…  In terms of skincare, the silicone will sit on top of the skin or fill in the fine lines to give the illusion of smoother skin.  This does not mean it will reduce wrinkles…just a temporary fix until it’s washed off.  This can also fill in the large pores, again, giving the illusion of smoother skin.  Silicon will block pores keeping in moisture, but at the same time keeping in any other debris inside the pores.  So when you put on foundation, it will sit on top of the silicon as oppose to being absorbed into the skin."

The best part about this product is that it's cheap! Go to ur local drug store and check it out!
